MAINSTAGE

DYSTOPIAN wants to illuminate the rough, melancholic, gloomy side of electronic dance music, to link people, things and music together, and act as a loose network, label, organizer and motor. May 12th at Lisboa Electronica, catch Dystopian’s showcase with Rodhad, Vril live and Drumcell.

Vril live

01h00 – 02h00
MAINSTAGE

Seemingly out of nowhere, through dust and with no bang, Vril appeared on the scene. His music made such beautiful noise that it instantly found it’s place on Marcel Dettmann’s selection for the Conducted cd and on Ostgut’s release schedule. His sound is a search for everlasting movement, an energy driven and incessant exploration. Once his groove catches you it will shine so bright you won’t escape.

Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley. Far away from the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, he cut his teeth growing up in a vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work. San Gabriel Valley is also where he and the Raíz brothers, Vangelis and Vidal, met and founded Droid Behavior in the early 2000s, which lead to the infamous Interface warehouse series and lauded Techno label Droid Recordings.

At the the end of the 1990s Rødhåd laid the groundwork for his DJ career. He organized small open-air-parties in the outskirts of Berlin just for the fun of it. Word about the new kid on the block spread quickly far beyond Berlin and Germany’s borders. His specific Dub-Techno style, mixed with percussive grooves and a timeless, perfect mixing technique garnered him widespread recognition.
